Dr. Chintamani Godbole is a Gastrointestinal surgeon with a special interest in Colorectal surgery and Peritoneal surface oncology. His qualifications include MBBS and MS (General Surgery) from Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital Mumbai. He then completed his super-specialty training as DNB (GI Surgery) from Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai. He has had further training in Colorectal surgery in the UK, where he was working for 5 years. His UK experience includes fellowships in minimally invasive colorectal surgery (Laparoscopic and Robotic), Surgery for Colorectal cancer, Peritoneal Cytoreductive Surgery, and HIPEC. He was a fellow at the Basingstoke Peritoneal Malignancy Institute, which is a world-renowned centre for Colorectal and peritoneal cancer surgery. He has also worked as a locum General/Colorectal surgical Consultant at University Hospitals Coventry, UK. He was awarded the Membership of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2018. He is a member of the Association of Colo-Proctologists of Great Britain and Ireland. He is involved in multiple research projects, both in India and the UK, and has many publications in peer-reviewed Journals.
